FIONA CHONG is an atypical Singaporean who took a leap of faith — she left her banking career in pursuit of her dream in photography after repeated harsh reminders of mortality.
She holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from The National University of Singapore and graduated from the Professional Certificate Program at Maine Media College in Rockport, Maine, US, where she concentrated in Photography, Multimedia and Alternative Processes (Wet Plate Collodion, Gum, Platinum, Salt).
The understanding that the only certainty in life is death engenders a compelling interest in existentialism and the metaphysical. This perspective attributes a cerebral and psychologically charged element to her work.
Fiona is an Emmy® Award Winner in The 38th Boston/New England Emmy® Awards as the Producer/ Editor for "The Wonderful World of Oz", a multimedia documentary.
Back home, she was one of the ten selected photographers for Shooting Home — an esteemed annual photography mentorship program organized by Objectifs (Singapore) in 2013, which culminated in a group exhibition.
She is an Associate Member of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) and currently working as a freelance photographer, versatile in editorial, sports, portraits, multimedia and fine art.
Fiona is available for commissions and projects.
